Internship Application

  • Our interns engage in 30 to 40 hours a week of service-learning while performing a variety of farm chores including gardening, feeding, socializing, and exercising farm and domestic animals, mucking out animal areas, assisting with public tours, field trips and service-learning groups, and other duties as needed. Are you willing and able to accomplish these volunteer tasks?
  • Our interns engage in hard, physical volunteering and thus our intern program is only suitable for people who are physically fit and able to work outdoors in all sorts of weather conditions. Are you physically and mentally prepared for this challenge?
  • Our interns need to be self-motivated, dependable, team players, and flexible about what kind of volunteer task they are assigned to perform on a daily basis. Do you possess these qualities?
  • Sanctuary One provides intern housing which includes a bathroom/shower, a shared country kitchen, dining room and living room. Sleeping quarters vary depending on how many other interns reside at the farm, and will consist of either a shared or private room. Are you willing to accept whatever housing is available?
  • We require a $50 refundable cleaning deposit to be paid in cash upon arrival. It will be held in the Sanctuary safe until you check out at the end of your stay. Please type your initials to agree:
  • Volunteering as an intern at Sanctuary One does not create a landlord/tenant relationship. An individual is granted permission to live at the Sanctuary only as long as they remain in "good standing" as an intern. If the intern relationship is terminated by Sanctuary One, the individual must vacate the property as soon as reasonably possibly, and in no event longer than 48 hours. Are you willing to accept these terms?
  • All applicants must agree to a background check at their expense. Fees range from $15 to $100 for USA residents and higher internationally; you will be notified of the fee during the application process. This fee is non-refundable, even if you are not accepted as an intern or withdraw your application. Please type your initials to agree:
