Program Assistant

We are hiring a full time Program Assistant. Spanish bilingual required. This position will be responsible for assisting several of Sanctuary One’s core programs (Public Tours, Service-Learning, and Field Trips).

A love of animals and nature is critical, although specific gardening techniques can be learned on the job. Curriculum creation experience preferred.

The position is Tuesday-Saturday 7:30-4:00pm with a half hour lunch. Benefit package includes nine holiday, paid sick and vacation time, staff development/continuing education opportunities, and health, vision, and dental insurance.

Pay: $21 an hour

Animal Care Assistant

The Animal Care Assistant is a part time position responsible for assisting with Sanctuary One core animal-care operations, and with a variety of programs. This position performs daily animal feeding and movement operations (“chores”), as well as other animal-care duties as needed: administration of medications, grooming, wound care, cleaning of habitats, etc.

This shift would be for closing Saturday through Tuesday 10:30am-6:30pm (with half an hour lunch), a total of 30 hours a week. $16 an hour to start.

We’re looking for a few talented and conscientious volunteer board members dedicated to the success of Sanctuary One’s Animal, Earth and People Care programs. If you’re inspired to contribute your time, thoughtfulness and leadership for a few hours a week, please email a letter of interest to info@sanctuaryone.org telling us why you’d be a good match for the Sanctuary One Board of Directors. Applications will be accepted on a continuing basis throughout the year. We are especially looking for individuals with nonprofit board and/or strategic planning experience, enthusiasm for care farming and those passionate about our mission to provide a refuge for animals and a healing place for people while promoting environmental stewardship.
