Animal Care Assistant

Do you love animals? Do you enjoy getting your hands a little dirty while making a big impact? Sanctuary One is looking for a compassionate, hands-on, and animal-loving individual to join our team as an Animal Care Assistant! At Sanctuary One, we don’t just care for animals—we heal them, and in the process, we heal people too.

This 30 hour part-time position will be responsible for assisting with Sanctuary One core animal-care operations, and with a variety of programs. This position performs daily animal feeding and movement operations (“chores”), as well as other animal-care duties as needed: administration of medications, grooming, wound care, cleaning of habitats, etc.

We’re looking for a few talented and conscientious volunteer board members dedicated to the success of Sanctuary One’s Animal, Earth and People Care programs. If you’re inspired to contribute your time, thoughtfulness and leadership for a few hours a week, please email a letter of interest to info@sanctuaryone.org telling us why you’d be a good match for the Sanctuary One Board of Directors. Applications will be accepted on a continuing basis throughout the year. We are especially looking for individuals with nonprofit board and/or strategic planning experience, enthusiasm for care farming and those passionate about our mission to provide a refuge for animals and a healing place for people while promoting environmental stewardship.
