To Our Community,
For 17 years, Sanctuary One has been a place where people, animals, and the earth come together to heal.
On our 55-acre care farm in the Applegate Valley, we’ve rescued thousands of animals, grown food for families in need, and welcomed people from all walks of life who come to rest, grieve, and reconnect.
Today, we’re at a turning point and we need your help.
Like many nonprofits, we’re navigating financial and operational challenges. Because of this, we’ve had to pause our public tours, school visits, and service-learning programs until 2026. This was not an easy choice, but it allows us to focus on what matters most right now: the animals.
Today, over 100 animals call Sanctuary One home. Each one has a unique story and is looking for a forever home. Until that day comes, our small (but mighty) animal care team works around the clock to make sure they are fed, safe, and loved. Their wellbeing is our top priority, and we need your help to keep them safe.
Sanctuary One has always been more than just a farm. We’ve been a partner to overwhelmed shelters when they run out of space. We’ve grown fresh produce for ACCESS to help feed our neighbors. And we’ve welcomed children, veterans, and visitors looking for a place to reset, connect, and heal.
We are NOT closing. But we need your support to keep going and to build a more stable, sustainable future.
Here’s how you can help:
- Donate: Every dollar goes directly to the care of the animals.
- Volunteer: Your time and skills are needed more than ever.
- Lead: If you have experience in nonprofit leadership, finance, fundraising, or operations, we invite you to get involved.
People, animals, and the earth: better together. We’ve lived this truth for 17 years — and with your help, we’ll keep living it for many more.
This is not the end of Sanctuary One. It’s the beginning of something new. Together, we can keep this place alive — a home for animals, a haven for people, and a healing space for all.
Thank you for standing with us,
The Sanctuary One Board of Directors
