Sanctuary One provides a safe, loving home to approximately 100 rescued farm animals and domesticated pets, including horses, donkeys, cows, alpacas, llamas, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and geese. Sanctuary One’s animals all come to us from other qualified rescues and shelters, where they may have had difficulty being adopted. Most animals are available for adoption to qualified homes, though if an animal is never adopted Sanctuary One guarantees a lifetime of care.

Sanctuary One takes in animals from other animal shelters and sanctuaries, rescue groups, and law-enforcement agencies. We do not intake animals directly from private homes. If you need help finding a good home for your animal, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for local organizations that may be able to assist you.

Meet the Animals

Want to meet the animals in person? Come for a visit on one of our public tour days! On the tour you’ll meet everyone, from the pigs and horses to dogs and cat. Advanced reservations required. Please visit our Sanctuary Tours page to sign up.

Adopt an Animal

Most of the Sanctuary’s animals are available for adoption into loving homes. Check out our Adoption page and see if one of the animals might be a good fit for you. Then schedule an appointment to come out and meet your new best friend.

Support the Animals

Not everyone is ready to bring a new animal into their home, but you can still support the creatures you love by becoming a monthly donor. Donations ensure we can provide our residents high quality food, top notch veterinary care and continue rescuing animals for decades to come.

Work with the Animals

We rely on a dedicated corps of volunteers to care for, walk, and help train and the Sanctuary’s many animals residents. Learn more about joining our volunteer team.

Our Executive Director, Megan Flowers, wanted to share a story from a recent field trip."A chaperone from the class I led was a grandma of a student. In the garden I shared how our produce goes from the garden beds to someone's kitchen within 48 hours; often 24 hours. I also mentioned that the type of produce we grow was decided by surveying people's needs and requests at The Teresa McCormick Center. The chaperone mentioned her 89 year old mom filled out the survey and was so excited to receive our fresh produce. I told her that she can now go back to her mom and tell her she's seen where the produce is grown! Our garden, lovingly tended by Jess and her team, served three generations - great grandmother, grandmother, and grandchild. Small town living = wide impact."People, animals, and the earth...better together! ... See MoreSee Less
